BALBOA PARK & OLD TOWN
100 years ago, in honor of the completion of the Panama Canal, the people of the city of San Diego came together to host a phenomenal party in the newly opened Balboa Park. Now, 100 years later, we are commemorating this historical and cultural wonder, the nation's largest urban cultural park. Home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens, and the San Diego Zoo, the Park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and classes—all in the beautiful and timeless setting of this must-see San Diego attraction. This “Residents Free Tuesday” features the following museums: San Diego Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Hall of Champions, House of Pacific Relations International Cottages and the Timken Museum of Art. We’ll stop at Old Town for lunch at any of the fine restaurants after our museum exploration. You will have free time to visit the many shops around this quaint part of San Diego.
