Job Description: Part Time Associate Bookkeeper
Position Overview
This position’s primary goal is to provide an outstanding bookkeeping and client experience to our customers. This goal is achieved by flawlessly executing recurring, and one off, bookkeeping tasks.
This job listing is for a part time bookkeeper who would be working 5-10 hours a month to start. The applicant selected is expected to begin work in February or March 2025. Based on performance and available work, there is potential growth in hours within 3-9 months upon hire.
As an Associate Bookkeeper you play a crucial role in helping us deliver outstanding services to our clients. You will partner with the owner, helping them execute all necessary tasks and bookkeeping functions for your assigned clients.
Duties and Responsibilities

Track expenses, budget, taxes, cashflow, receipts and other financial transactions

Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly, and yearly)

Monitor accounts payable and receivable

Ensure timely processing of payroll

Categorize expense transactions weekly/bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on the client, with receipt management

Perform monthly Bank and Credit Card account reconciliations

Ask clients questions about unclear transactions via Financial Cents

Prepare monthly journal entries, as needed

Check in with team Financial Cents projects and provide status updates

Use of Asana for other team projects
-
Map out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for client work

Other duties, as needed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

3+ years of experience in related field

Must have your own computer, phone and consistent internet access

Must reside in North County San Diego, CA
-
Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Office Suite. QBO ProAdvisor Certification is a plus.

Comfortable working with Excel. Experience with Financial Cents, Asana, Google Drive & Gusto is a plus.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Self-motivated with strong time management skills

Responsive and able to meet project deadlines

Not afraid to ask questions when you need clarification

Must be available to work during the hours of M-Th, 9a.m.-1 p.m. PST, which are our core hours. Some flexibility will be provided after the first 3 months of employment.

Hiring Process
Initial Interviews are conducted via video over Zoom. Candidates are expected to be camera ready - please test your mic and video before hand, and be in a quiet location while stationary (i.e. not driving and walking).
