Primary Function:


Responsible for the leadership, administration, planning, and development of the District's Nursing Education Department and its Registered Nurse (RN) educational program; ensures the quality of the program and its compliance with relevant laws, regulations and external accreditation standards; supervises assigned employees.


Salary: $11,374.50 [step 1] – $13,855.54 [step 5]. Step placement may be negotiable dependent upon education and experience. Administrators that possess earned doctorates from accredited institutions are awarded an annual stipend of $1,842.81.

Minimum Qualifications:


To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:




• One (1) years’ experience as a Director or Assistant Director of Nursing with validated performance of administrative responsibilities consistent with administering a registered nursing program, including coordinating and directing all activities in developing, implementing, and managing the program, including its fiscal planning pursuant to Title 16, § 1420(h);

• Two (2) years’ experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs; and

• One (1) year’s continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience direct patient care as a registered nurse or clinical instructor within the last five years; OR equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the BRN.


Note: For work experience, a “year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months. For supervisory experience, the experience must be at a professional level (i.e. evaluation and/or discipline of staff).




Education: A Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration.


Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. Coursework and degrees that are completed outside of the United States are required to have transcripts evaluated (evaluation to U.S. equivalency and a course by course analysis) by an appropriate U.S. credentials evaluation service.
