Starting Wage

$31.52/hr plus 10% shift differential

 

Location

On-site at headquarters in Vista, CA.

 

Schedule

1:15 pm to 9:55 pm

 

Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Uses modern programmatic industrial controls to operate and monitor the water treatment separation process chemically and mechanically of 3,000-gallon batches.
  • Takes in line samples and analyzes them using basic lab equipment.
  • Ensures that record batching and testing information is performed consistently and accurately as deemed necessary.
  • Understands and operates different pumps, valves, mixers, and various mechanical components and knows how to troubleshoot issues related to them.
  • Manages and makes production decisions ensuring the factory’s wastewater is controlled.
  • Mixes chemicals for treatment process working with Hydrated lime, Flocculant’s, Sulfuric acid and diatomaceous earth with preparation.
  • Completes and maintains daily logs acquiring relative data and reacts to any changes ensuring water quality is controlled.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed and that the organization is compliant with local water company discharge permit stipulations, which includes taking collected samples to a local lab.  
  • Coordinates all raw materials needed for use in the treatment of water liaising with suppliers and vendors.
  • Uses Human Machine Interface programs to operate machinery.
  • Operates fork-lift essential for transporting materials for day-to-day activities.
  • Performs minor troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair as directed, requiring the knowledge and familiar use of hand and electrical tools.
  • Creates maintenance work orders for all equipment, following up with any pending repairs.
  • Responsible for coaching and sharing knowledge with fellow operators, training them to be qualified to operate machinery.
  • Monitors productivity and safety of fellow employees.
  • Carries out housekeeping duties ensuring a safe and clean workspace is maintained.
  • Ensures that all wastewater is at quality standards, is attentive to detail and accuracy and corrects quality problems in an efficient and timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Supports and collaborates with the Production Coordinator, assisting clerical tasks pertinent to ISO.
  • Follows, understands, and creates written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) as directed by Bulk Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned within job scope.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in wastewater management or similar operations with industrial equipment such as pumps, valves, mixers, lab equipment and automation.
  • Strong, demonstratable understanding of the chemical batch wastewater treatment process, including familiarity with industrial controls and processes, chemicals and chemical batch processes, mechanical maintenance procedures, and wastewater treatment operating procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, mechanical diagnostic, and computer competence. Excellent math function skills.
  • Must have knowledge/experience in the use and handling of industrial controls, valves, computer equipment, all types of power & hand tools, pumps, filters, compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, forklift, and electric pallet jack.

  • Must possess/obtain forklift and pallet jack certifications. Additional in-house safety certifications must be completed.
