Starting Salary Range
$75,000 to $80,000 depending on experience.
Location
On-site position in Vista, CA.
Work Hours
5:00 AM to 1:40 PM Pacific Time
Responsibilities:
- Performs Safety Inspections, Job Hazard Analysis, Accident Investigation, and Root Cause Analysis for safety-related incidents. Reports any findings with photos and official documentation to corresponding departments or takes immediate action if necessary.
- Works with other professionals in the Safety Division to run the quarterly Safety Committee meetings by facilitating, scribing, timekeeping, and sending out meeting minutes.
- Responds to Safety Concerns, by inspecting and documenting the area of concern, and following up with relevant department(s) regarding corrective action until closing the incident.
- Reviews and provides suggestions to improve/update the Learning Plan Report Schedules for Annual Safety Training Plans, Annual BEP Training Plans and other safety related programs.
- Audit safety training courses and create a matrix of training/ courses for departments/roles.
- Shares responsibility with the other professionals in the Safety Division to organize outsourced trainings/evaluations via 3rd parties for Safety Trainings, which may include but not limited to: Annual Fire Extinguisher Training, Bi-Annual First Aid/CPR/AED Training, Confined Space Training, Respiratory Protection Training and Fit Testing, etc.
- As needed, acts as a backup Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and Aerial Work Platform (AWP) trainer for new ongoing operator certifications.
- Manages the company-approved drivers by completing the driver screening process and continuously monitoring approved drivers’ motor vehicle reports.
- Assists in the development, tracking, and review of workplace safety plans, as well as systems in place to track Safety Plan-related aspects.
- Performs Industrial Hygiene-related processes for measuring workplace exposure for airborne hazards and noise.
- Provides guidance based on industry regulations and company policies, after confirming with the Safety Manager.
- Assists in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Record Forms (RF), and other guides related to Safety Processes.
- Performs job hazard analysis on new or altered processes, and tracks completion for processes in production and warehouse.
- Performs annual hazardous materials inventory count to update the portals within the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) for Certified Unified Program Agencies (CUPA) and other relevant systems/agencies.
- Management of the hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste process and tracking of the manifest.
- Assist with any work-related injuries and works comp related matters.
- Manages Lockout/ Tag Out procedures for Dr. Bronner’s equipment.
- Other duties as assigned within job scope.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of experience with OSHA compliance, other regulatory agencies, and Title 8 Cal-OSHA regulations.
- 4 years of work experience completing safety assessments, drafting safety programs and procedures.
- Progressive experience with manufacturing equipment/programs such as Lockout/Tag Out for navigating safety requirements, determining corrective actions, record keeping, and incident reporting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.)
- Must possess an OSHA-30, equivalent, or higher certifications.
