40 hrs. a week; $25-$28/hr.
August-June (Grant funded temporary position)

The Boys & Girls Club of Vista has several new elementary and middle school sites opening in January. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Operations, the School Site Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the overall daily operations of assigned site. Key responsibilities include ensuring quality program and service delivery, supervision, and training of staff, budgetary compliance, maintaining positive relations with VUSD teachers, principals and custodians, community relations, and membership administration. The position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the safe execution of assigned site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all grant objectives and member enrollment are met.
  • Be primary point of contact for school administration at your assigned site.
  • Create and implement a quality youth development program at assigned site that incorporates all three BGCV core areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character and leadership.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a behavior management system for Club members in alignment with VUSD.
  • Maintain membership database and ensure records are completed and up to date.
  • Ensure program attendance is accurately recorded and entered daily in our online database.
  • Responsible for purchasing supplies and maintaining program budget.
  • Develop a plan for recruitment and retention of members.
  • Train, manage, and coach a team of direct reports that include up to 5 part time Youth Development Specialist and 1 full time Program Specialist.[SA1]
  • Ensure quality improvement of programs by conducting program observations and providing feedback to staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including school administration, youth, and parents.
  • Assist with creating program recruitment flyers for school district and families.
  • Conduct periodic exhibits and displays of work done by Club members.
  • Follow all emergency procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with the procedures adopted by the emergency service authorities to ensure safety.
  • Maintain professional communication with external community groups, schools, teachers, parents, and others to assist in resolving problems.
  • Ensure the health and safety of Club members, staff, volunteers and community.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:[SA2]
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities for a youth development program.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Have a charismatic personality with a high energy level, adaptability, willingness to learn and possess emotional intelligence
  • Availability to work both before (6:45am-9:45am) and after school (3:00pm-6:00pm).
  • Working knowledge of budget control and management.
  • Established planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Successfully pass background check and random drug testing.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Advanced science, math and English skills; K-8 preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must speak clearly and hear normal conversations as well as out of the ordinary noises.
  • Must sit or stand for four plus hours per day.
  • Must stoop, bend, climb and walk frequently and lift up to 50 pounds.
