12th Annual Heroes of Vista Gala Will Celebrate Excellence in Vista on March 10th at The Vistonian

VISTA, CA. Jan. 18, 2023. The Vista Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Vista Education Foundation and Tri-City Medical Center have announced the 12th Annual Heroes of Vista Gala. The Gala will take place on Friday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m. at The Vistonian, the same venue where the event took place last year. The Heroes of Vista Gala prides itself for celebrating excellence in education, business, public safety, and more. The theme this year will be focused on celebrating the Vista Chamber’s 100th anniversary. Trudy Bronner will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrate all her contributions to make Vista a great place to live, play, and do business.
Awards are separate into three categories, Community Awards, Business Awards, and Education Awards. The honorees and nominees for this year are:
Community Awards
Lifetime Achievement Award – Trudy Bronner, Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps
Veteran of the Year – Master Sergeant Rudy Moreno, USAF (Ret.)
Sheriff of the Year – Deputy Jorgen Pedersen and Deputy Frank Ramos
Firefighter of the Year – Michael Saldaña
Healthcare Hero – Steve Dietlin, CEO, Tri-City Medical Center
Nick Ljubic Chamber Champion – Terry Woods, North County Daily Star
Education Awards
Administrator of the Year – Tracy Zachry, Assistant Principal, Casita Center
Classified Employee of the Year – Georginne Smith, Office Manager, Mission Vista High School
Technology Educator of the Year – Dewayne Cossey, Director of Information Technology, District office
Art Educator of the Year – George Doyle, Teacher, The Leadership Academy
VUSD Healthcare Employee of the Year – Holly Gruver, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Roosevelt Middle School
Business Awards
New Business of the Year Nominees – ADU Gurus, Giddy Up Pup Pet Resort & Spa, SVN Vanguard
Non-Profit of the Year – Assistance League of North Coast, Green Oak Ranch, MAAC
