Social Media seminar . . . experts present best practices and strategies The San Diego chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/SD) is hosting a two-part Social Media seminar with experts in the field to present effective strategies and practices to event attendees. WHAT: September 24: Part One: Social Media Case Study Examples - Southwest Airlines Speaker: Paula Berg, Manager of Emerging Media, Southwest Airlines Through real-life case studies from recent years, Paula Berg will show how Southwest Airlines has effectively used Social Media tools such as the award-winning corporate blog, Nuts About Southwest, as well as Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook to make, manage and maintain successful online communities. She will also share lessons Southwest has learned along the way. October 28: Part Two: Seven Steps to an Effective Social Media Strategy Speaker: Linda Zimmer is CEO of MarCom:Interactive, organizational strategies and education at the intersection of new media and digital behaviors Linda Zimmer will share seven essential steps needed to create the right strategy to drive any social media initiative. By doing this, attendees will know what's most effective . . . Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn . . . or something better. Zimmer will also share resources on setting social media policy and ways to measure social media efforts.
