Organization Mission: The Moonlight Cultural Foundation’s mission is to build and engage community through transformative arts experiences by providing philanthropic support for Moonlight Stage Productions and Moonlight Youth Theatre’s arts education programs.
MCF Purpose: To raise funds in support of Moonlight Stage Productions year-round programming, as well as financial/program support for Moonlight Youth Theatre. Moonlight Cultural Foundation provides funding to ensure the highest possible production quality, marketing outreach, and important capital expansion and improvement.
Position: The Education Manager opening is for a full-time (40 hours per week) position responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of Moonlight Youth Theatre. Reporting to the MCF Executive Director this position will develop and implement MYT programs for the year. Applicants should have a successful history of producing, and/or curating work for theatre that exhibits the highest production standards, creativity, and discipline to engage audiences and inspire students to conduct themselves with positivity and integrity.
Major Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Develops, implements and evaluates MYT programs for the year
● Hires and supervises MYT personnel: artistic, technical and studio teaching staff
● Serves as Production Manager for all MYT productions (3-4 per year)
● Plans and executes MYT’s summer camp
● Program weekly classes & monthly workshops at Moonlight Studios
● Supervises MYT’s student internship & residency programs
● With Executive Director plans annual program budget
● Participation in calendar development and season programming.
● Planning and execution of Special Events in support of MYT
● Assist with oversight of MYT auxiliary committee
● Committee/Board Meeting Preparation
Knowledge and Skills:
● Experience with child safety; continually evaluating processes and making recommendations for improvements
● Experience communicating with parents, mediating issues and escalating concerns when appropriate.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Windows computer environment
● Ability to speak in front of small and large audiences
● Attention to detail
● Ability to meet deadlines
● Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
● Strong contributor in team environments
● Love for nonprofits, the arts, and Broadway musicals is a plus!
Qualifications:
● A history of artistic achievement and an ambitious, creative vision
● Experience developing and managing artistic teams to create/produce shows of quality

● Bachelor’s degree preferred
● Two years production management preferred
● Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
● Experience working in deadline-driven environments
● Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Physical Demands:
● Regularly lifts, carries and/or moves objects weighing up to 30 pounds
● Work may require travel to other offices or locations to conduct work or attend meetings
● Possess a valid California Driver’s license and have access to a vehicle, or reliable alternative modes of transportation, for transportation to and from business related events.
● Evening and weekend hours will be required throughout the year.
