Starting Wage

$71,240 to $80,000 depending on experience

Location

Hybrid role and will work in the office 1 to 2 days per week in Vista, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Review ingredient/packaging documentation, and product formulas for compliance with regulatory requirements, third party certifications, and other independent standards (e.g. retailer standards).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to track and deliver compliance evaluation of ingredients, packaging materials, formulas, and claims.
  • Research and monitor current, new, and emerging local, national, and international regulations that may impact our manufacturing facility, formulations, claims, and packaging.
  • Leads compliance evaluation of packaging materials, communicate outstanding needs and internal approvals to appropriate lead or departments.
  • Organize, create, and prepare submissions to certifiers or regulatory bodies in support of ongoing compliance, new product development and new market opportunities globally.
  • Review of marketing assets and claims for compliance with relevant regulations and third-party certifications
  • Maintain and support validation process of claims in support of ongoing compliance and new product development and new market opportunities.
  • Lead cross-departmental working groups to ensure compliance with state, federal, or international standards, e.g. EPR.
  • Lead and coordinate renewals and audits for company-wide third-party certifications, memberships, and registrations.
  • Maintain databases for ongoing compliance of third-party certifications.
  • Facilitate communication with third-party certifiers to ensure compliance of new products and ongoing compliance of existing products.
  • Other duties as assigned within job scope.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science, Biological Sciences, or related scientific field.
  • 3 years’ experience in a regulatory or compliance role with a personal care or food brand.
  • 3 years’ experience interpreting regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.)
